The Centre is able to provide a flexible programme of day/half day and evening courses for parents/ teachers and teaching assistants in groups of 6 – 15, based on local demand and requirements.

There is also a large resource bank of teaching/assessment materials and academic books available for reference purposes.

    with your child at home (4 evenings).

(Autumn/Spring half-term/Easter/Summer Holidays):

  • Intensive Literacy Course: 7 – 11 year olds.
  • Effective use of computers for reading, writing and study skills: 8 – adult.
  • An introduction to Study Skills: 8 – 12 year olds.
  • Effective Study Skills for Secondary Pupils: 12 – 16 year olds.
  • Advanced Study Skills for Further and Higher Education.
  • Social/Friendship Skills: 8 – 11.

We would be happy to provide tailor-made INSET and other courses on request, including courses on school premises.  Please telephone the Centre to discuss your individual requirements.

Times:

Day courses, at the Centre, run from 10 – 4.30. Half day courses are either
10 – 12.30 or 2 – 4.30, and evening courses are generally 6.30 – 9.00pm.
